Roberto Cavalli and Rachel Zoe have not made it onto a list of fashion’s most significant people. Last week, TIME magazine announced voting was open for their annual TIME 100 poll – which lists the most significant people in the world.
Following that the American publication has unveiled a number of top 100 lists in various subject areas. Among them is a Fashion Accessories , which includes the designers, poser, photographers, editors, stylists and muses who are hold to be the most influential.
Several major names are not presented, with Huffington Postpointing out that big names such as Roberto, Rachel, Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger and Tyra Banks should have got a look in. The list isn’t ranked, with the magazine alternatively choosing to detail who it believes are the biggest names in the business.
Among the decorator, Azzedine Alaïa, Giorgio Armani, Pierre Cardin, Jean Paul Gaultier, Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford are all included. Footwear stars Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin are also planned, as is Alexander McQueen and Karl Lagerfeld.
Surprisingly, guilty decorator John Galliano gets a mention too. He was despoiled from his eponymous label and his role at Christian Dior last year after he made intolerant remarks during an argument at a bar.
For the models, Gisele Bündchen, Kate Moss, Twiggy, Heidi Klum and Naomi Campbell lineament. Anna Wintour, Patricia Field and Carine Roitfeld make it onto the editors and styler section, while the genus Mus list is far-reaching. Stars from David Bowie and Michel Jackson appear aboard Lady Gaga, Audrey Hepburn and US First Lady Michelle Obama.
